Therapeutic Pilates

Our Pilates flows are designed by our Physical Therapists and individualized based on the needs of each of our clients. We offer private sessions as well as small group classes based on your skill level and needs.

Pilates integrates all components of physical fitness including strength, mobility, endurance, coordination and balance. Our instructors are certified in the Pilates method, which was developed by Joseph Pilates (1883-1967) and originally called “Contrology”.

Using the principles of Pilates, each session will focus on:

  • Breathing for diaphragm and pelvic floor coordination and improved intra-abdominal pressure;
  • Concentration by utilizing the mind/body connection for improved movement awareness;
  • Control of correct, quality movement without utilizing faulty mechanics;
  • Centering of your movement, utilizing your core muscles to enhance function for your arms and legs;
  • Flowing Movement by utilizing dynamic exercises for improved neuromuscular control;
  • Precision of purposeful muscle recruitment and correct postural alignment.
